Nokia India today announced Scheduled Launch Of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Nokia India today announced Scheduled Launch Of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic As part of its strategy to consolidate its position in India, mobile handset maker Nokia announced today the scheduled launch of their highly-anticipiated touch based smartphone for the Indian market.
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be available in India starting January 2009 for about Rs. 21,839 (336€ or $439), which is by the way nearly as cheap as expected and now I'm really curious why it going to be that expenceive in Europe<
Nokia India also announced today scheduled launch of the beta version of the that will go live in December 2008.
D. Shivakumar, Managing Director, Nokia India said, "As Nokia's first mass-market device with a touch screen, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic turns a user interface' into a 'human interface' by truly putting people first.

When it comes to music phones, people all over the world want a device that is a great music experience – with more memory, loud and powerful speakers, easy synchronization – and must still work well as a mobile phone with direct access to important contacts and content. The iconic Nokia 5800 XpressMusic delivers on all these counts.
Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President, Nokia said, With more than 300 million music enabled devices sold, and a strong base of over 10 Nokia Music stores in operation globally, Nokia has been able to gain incredible amount of knowledge and insights on what people want in a music device and track important trends on how people consume music. We will continue to break new grounds in this space by building more and better services for our consumers.

Reportedly priced at Rs 21, 839, Nokia's touchscreen phone will be available in India beginning 2009.
However, in India Nokia sell phones with no operator lock, unlike Apple iPhone with Bharti and Airtel.
So, seems Nokia 5800 Xpress Music is all set to give tough competition to Apple iPhone which retails at Rs 31,000 for 8GB and Rs 36,000 for 16GB in India. Google phone G1 is said to reach India by December end, is also likely to be priced above Rs 20,000.

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

While it may not be Nokia's first touchscreen phone (anyone out there remember the 7710?), the 5800 XpressMusic is certainly the first to come out of Finland with a mainstream appeal. What we've alternately known as the "Tube" throughout much of its development cycle is the first production device to run S60 5th Edition -- the fourth major overhaul of Nokia's ubiquitous smartphone platform since 2002 and the first to support fingers, styli, and high-res displays. Speaking of high-res displays, the 5800 comes equipped with an impressive 3.2-inch 640 x 360 resistive touchscreen to go along with its 3.2-megapixel autofocus cam, Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash, GPS, WiFi, 3.5mm jack, and a microSD slot with support for 16GB cards. It'll be available in three versions -- European HSDPA, North American HSDPA, and GSM only -- and ships this quarter in black, red, and blue for €279 (about $392) unlocked with an 8GB card thrown in for good measure. Music fans with voracious appetites for new tunes might want to hold out, though, for the Comes With Music-equipped version that follows on "early next year" at a to-be-announced price.

How To Upgrade & Use Voip & Ptt On Contract N95 Phone

How To Upgrade & Use Voip & Ptt On Contract N95 Phone

How To Upgrade & Use Voip & Ptt On Contract N95 Phone
I haven’t contributed for a long time, really due to not having any info of much use LOL.

A few months ago I decided on getting the N95 as it was the best kick NOT ALLOWED do all mobile going in the UK.
I can’t say best going anywhere as I have seen the Sharp 911SH With TV Tuner.

Anyway, to my dilemma, N95, excellent phone only a couple of drawbacks.
All major phone networks in the UK have taken out features of the N95 to stop you making free calls over the internet (VOIP) and push to talk (PTT).

There excuse, the feature was not tested in time for the release of the phone (yeah right), wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact it avoids paying them huge amounts of money to call abroad.

So for all those who do not like their phones tampered with by these corporate bullies here is how to upgrade your phones firmware and software.
This detailed info will allow you to upgrade most N series phones that are fixed to a set network operator thus allowing these options removed by phone networks to be now working on your contract phone.

1) First you need to backup your phone memory to PC using Nokia PC Suite
to get the latest version from the Nokia Site hxxp://europe.nokia.com/A4144905 25Mb
So connect your phone and backup all your files to pc first.

2) Disconnect your phone from the PC and switch it off.
Then switch it on while holding Green key (this is the make a call button) and the * key and the 3 key.
So switch on phone and hold down the Green + * + 3 all at same time and do not release until phone is booted up and the screen is displaying the menu.
Do not do this unless you have backed up your phone as it will hard reset and all your data will be gone.

3) Next we are going to change the Product code of the phone.
Have you wondered why when you connect your phone to the PC to upgrade using PC suite, Nokia upgrade software says there is no update?
The product code is the reason you can never upgrade your phone where others can.

All major network operators have there own product code, when you connect to Nokia with your phone attached to PC Suite, Nokia upgrade only sees the product code for your network and wont upgrade your phone as the network operator your with doesn’t want you to upgrade (they wont be able to control you).

To change the product code we need to use a cool piece of software called The NSS - Nemesis Service Suite.

www.b-phreaks.co.uk/files/NSS/NSS.zip

Once this is installed connect your N95 to PC in PC Suite mode.
Run the programme NSS that you just installed.

Looking at the picture included in this info:-

1) In the top hand right your see a blue icon (scan for devises), external hardrives can be detected so best to remove them first. Click this blue icon.

2) Click on “PHONE INFO”, this is to display the info you will be altering.

3) Click on “SCAN” this displays your phone version and IME.

4) Click on “READ” this displays the product code that you will alter, this is all that you will alter using this programme.

5) This is the product code. You need to change this to 0534841, this is Euro 1 product code. If you want to use Euro 2 this is 0534844.

6) Tick the enable box

7) Click on “WRITE”, this writes the new product code to your N95.

That's all there is to it, once you have done this close down the programme and run Nokia PC Suite and select "UPDATE PHONE SOFTWARE".

The software will connect to Nokia and amazingly your N95 will now be detected and it says there is a upgrade for your N95 where before you did this there wasn`t.

The upgrade is around 115meg in size, it is best to have your phone plugged into the main while doing this upgrade as having your phone connected to the USB drains the battery of the phone very fast.

The phone may reboot a few times during the upgrade so dont panic.
Once the upgrade is complete PC Suite will inform you.
After the upgrade is complete you can re-install the backup from the PC.

One thing i noticed was that after the upgrade i had VOIP and PTT in my menu, once i installed the back up from my PC they vanished so i just rebooted the phone and they returned.

To check they are there just go on any contacts name and select options for call or txt and you will see them in the menu, you can now call the contact using a internet call or a push to talk once you have set them up in the settings.

Oh and one other thing I noticed reading a few threads, even after people have posted threads you always get some one who shouldn’t be allowed to own a mobile saying they don’t understand, yet they haven’t read the info provided.
Please don’t ask me to explain what I have already said here it is self explanatory.

Converting Your Videos to RealPlayer

Converting Your Videos to RealPlayer

Don’t you know that RealPlayer support DivX codecs too? It was a surprise to me… How do we convert our videos to be played in RealPlayer? There are already several blogs discussing about this topic. Here are some of them:

* Video transcoding using ffmpeg from Oren (S60 Blog). Oren discussed how to convert our videos using Linux command line tool, i.e. ffmpeg. The tool, ffmpeg, is available for Windows too.
* Transcoding Video Files for Your Mobile Phone from Martin Sauter. Martin discussed how to use Media Coder to convert our videos to be played on S60 phones.
* Media Coder Mobile Phone HOWTO from Media Coder Wiki.

I won’t repeat the steps that are already covered by those postings. I just want to share which software and settings that I use to convert my videos. Normally, I am using SUPER from eRightSoft. SUPER is a free transcoding software that supports many popular codecs, including DivX, XviD, MPEG-4, H-263, H-264, MP3, AAC, …. However, I am also using Media Coder in some other cases. The screenshot below shows the settings that I use in my SUPER to convert videos to be played in RealPlayer for S60.
Output container: mp4 (MPEG-4) Output video codecs: MPEG-4

* Video scale size: 320 x 240 (most of the latest S60 phones use QVGA resolution, however double check your phone resolution)
* Frame/sec: 15
* Bit rate (kbps): 336 (you may need to lower the bit rate if your video cannot be displayed smoothly on the phone)

Output audio codecs: AAC

* Sampling rate: 22050
* Channels: 2
* Bit rate (kbps): 56

Compatible devices: S60 2nd Edition FP3, 3rd Edition, Nokia N-Series, Nokia E-Series.

Deleting "Stuck" Installer Files in S60 3rd Edition

Deleting "Stuck" Installer Files in S60 3rd Edition

Deleting "Stuck" Installer Files in S60 3rd Edition

have seen a problem with “stuck” installer files in S60 3rd Edition phones for a couple of times. The information from Application Manager shows that the applications are not installed. However, they cannot be deleted because there is no Delete menu (see screenshot below). They cannot be re-installed either because it always fails with “Unable to install” message. Those files are basically just stuck there.

From my opinion, it looks like a bug in S60 3rd Edition (not sure if this has been fixed in S60 3rd FP1). I don’t really know how to reproduce this problem, but it has happened to my phones several times. Once, I saw this problem after one application failed to install. In other occasions, I saw this problem after resetting my phone to the default factory settings.

What should we do if we have this kind of “stuck” installer files in S60 3rd Edition? One way is to delete the installer file manually via Windows Explorer. Unfortunately, we cannot use any file manager application because those files are located in a protected folder.

* Firstly, connect your phone to a PC via USB.
* Choose Data Transfer (a.k.a. Mass Storage). Do not select PC Suite because you won’t be able to browse protected folders in PC Suite mode.
* Open Windows Explorer on your PC.
* Go to \private\10202dce on the phone’s folder.
* There, you should be able to find the installer files (.sis). Just remove them using Windows Explorer.

Compatible devices: S60 3rd, Nokia Nseries, Nokia Eseries.

Tip for Password-protected Memory Card

Tip for Password-protected Memory Card

How to solve the problem?
If, for some reasons, you activate remote lock option on your phone, it will change your memory card’s password too. Just for your information, remote lock option allows you to lock your phone by sending SMS to it. It is a nice feature if you accidentally left your phone somewhere and you don’t want other people using it. You can activate this feature from Tools | Settings | Security | Phone and SIM | Allow remote lock menu. The password of your memory card will be your remote lock message.

So, if you still remember your remote lock message, then try to unlock your memory card’s password using that message.

Some Must Know Tips & Tricks for S60V3 Mobiles

Tip 1 : Do u know how to use the edit button (abc or pencil button)?
Heres how... in the inbox for example; u wanna delete multiple sms, simply hold the edit button, scroll down, and then, press c to delete the marked sms. The edit button can also b used to copy and past text in sms, simply hold it and scroll across, choose copy. pretty good for placing song names in ngages

Tip 2 : Shit happens, on a smartphone, its inevitable u do something wrong, and tis calls for a format of fone. to format the fone, press *#7370#, then enter the lock code, which is the sec code of the fone. NOTE: batt must b full, else if format is disrupted by low batt, consequences will b disatrous
I heard the code *#7780# works too, pretty much the same i tink.
for 6600 users, to format the fone, theres an alternative way. Press and hold <3>, <*> and Call (Send) buttons, then power on fone, keep holding on the 3 buttons, till u come to a format screen. this method ONLY works on 6600, and need not enter the sec code. BUT sec code would be reset to default 12345.

Tip 3 : TO NGAGE USERS; Did u know u can install .sis files simply using the cable given? Juz plug it in, place the .sis file anywhere on e: (the mmc), not in any folders, root of e:, disconnect, then look for it in manager.

Tip 4: Save on battery and system memory being used by regulary checking the task manager which can be accessed by holding down the menu button!!

Tip 5: Type *#06# to display your IMEI serial number, very valuable for the unlocking your phone to other sim cards

Tip 6: Type *#0000# to view which firmware version you are running

Tip 4a: Set the screen saver to a short time out period to prolong battery life.
Tip 4b: Avoid restarting the phone, or repeatedly turning it on and off. This helps increase battery life.

Tip 7: If you would like to avoid being "blue jacked", keep bluetooth turned off, or set your phone's visibility to hidden.

Tip 8: Don't want to carry a watch and a phone? Set the screen saver to show date and time, then you can ditch the watch.

Tip 9: Save memory when installing apps, by installing over bluetooth. This can be done using the nokia phone suite and a bluetooth serial connection. Only works with .SIS files, so java still has to be sent to the phone, but will save space when using .SIS files.

Tip 10: Operator logos
Use a filemanager like FExplorer or SeleQ to add the folders: "c:/system/Apps/phone/oplogo". Add a .bmp picture to folder "oplogo" and restart your phone! The .bmp picture size needs to be: 97 x 25 pixels

Tip 11: Check if the recepients phone is on
Delivery reports
or
Type *0# your message in the message composer window space then write your message, the recipient will not see the star zero hash bit - just the message When they read it it will relay a message back to your fone showing the time they recieved it. (haven't yet tried it myself though)

Tip 12: BlueJacking
First up, you need to know what Bluetooth is. There are lots of types of modern devices that incorporate Bluetooth as one of their many features. PDAs, mobile phones and laptops are a few of these modern devices. Bluetooth means that Bluetooth enabled devices can send things like phonebook/address book contacts, pictures & notes to other Bluetooth enabled devices wirelessly over a range of about 10 metres. So, we've got past the boring part. Now, using a phone with Bluetooth, you can create a phonebook contact and write a message, eg. 'Hello, you've been bluejacked', in the 'Name' field. Then you can search for other phones with Bluetooth and send that phonebook contact to them. On their phone, a message will popup saying "'Hello, you've been bluejacked' has just been received by Bluetooth" or something along those lines. For most 'victims' they will have no idea as to how the message appeared on their phone.

Tip 13: While you are viewing a picture in your phone's gallery, press one of these shortcut keys (definitely works on 6600, not sure about other symbians)
1 - turn image anticlockwise
3 - turn image clockwise
* - toggle on/off of full screen
5 - zoom in
0 - zoom out

#15 u can select all files in a folder by selecting THE folder and copy it then paste it somewhere. however u need to make a new directory. fexplorer wun let u copy
that folder together. well seleQ can mark files to copy but it really takes time!

#16: A soft and Hard reset
A Soft-reset - the process of resetting all the settings of the phone to the factory default! No applications are deleted! A Hard-reset is like formatting a drive! It does format the memory. Everything that has been installed after the first use of the phone is deleted! It will recover the memory of the phone to the state you purchased it! It is done by inputing the following code: *#7370# NOTE: The battery must be full or the charger has to be connected to the phone so that it does not run out of power and make the phone unusable.

#17: Formats of images
supported ones: JPG UPF GIF87a/89a WBMB MBM TIFF/F PNG EXIF
How to copy & paste text in your Nokia 3650:
Press and hold the pencil key and select your text using the scroll key.
Left function key will change to 'Copy'. Press it to copy the selected text to clipboard.
You can paste the clipboard contents the same way:
press and hold the pencil key and press 'Paste'. Or, press pencil key once and select 'Paste'.
Press and hold the Menu key to open the application switching window, where you can *duh* switch between applications.
If a program hangs and you can't shut it down, select the application in the
application switching window and press 'C' to kill it. It's also a faster way to exit programs.
Turn on/off the "click" sound made by the camera by selecting the 'Silent' profile or by turning warning tones on/off:
Menu > Profiles > "select your activated profile" > Personalise > Warning tones > On/Off.
(This also effects the sound of Java games and apps).
To change background image go to:
Menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > Standby mode > Background image > Yes > "choose an image".
The best size for background images is 174x132 pixels.
Only got blue, green and purple in your 3650 colour palette?
This free app adds 3 more colours: Palette Extender.
Display an image when someone's calling:
Menu > Contacts > "select a contact card" > Options > Edit > Options > Add thumbnail > "choose an image".
Add a personal ringing tone to a contact:
Menu > Contacts > "select a contact card" > Options > Open > Options > Ringing tone > "choose a ringing tone".
Delete all messages from your Inbox at once:
Menu > Messaging > Inbox > Options > Mark/Unmark > Mark all > Options > Delete.
Send or hide your caller ID: Go to: Menu > Tools > Settings > Call > Send My
Caller ID > 'Yes', 'No' or 'Set By Network' to follow the default settings of your home network.
If you often copy large files to your MultiMedia Card, I recommend a card reader.
E.g. With a card reader it takes only 12 seconds to copy a 10 MB file!
Record the sound of a phone call using the (sound) Recorder.
Menu > Extra's > Recorder > Options > Record sound clip.
Note: short beeps are audible during call registration.
But there is a 60 second limitation so if you want unlimited sound recording get this app: Extended Recorder.
While writing text, press "#" to switch between upper and lower case and Dictonary on/off (predictive text input).
Press and hold "#" to switch between Alpha mode and Number mode.
Keyboard shortcuts for zooming and rotating images in Images:
1 = zoom in, 0 = zoom out, press and hold to return to the normal view.
2 = rotate anticlockwise, 9 = rotate clockwise, * = full screen.
In standby mode, press and hold the right soft key to activate voice dialling.
To add a voice tag to a phone number, open a contact card and scroll to the phone number and select:
Options > Add voice tag.
You can customize both soft keys located below the screen (in standby mode):
Menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > Standby mode > Left/Right selection key > "select an application".
In standby mode. press scroll key center (joystick) to go directly to Contacts.
In standby mode, press and hold 0 to launch your wap home page.
In Menu or any subfolder, press numbers 1 - 9 to start the application at that location.
123
456
789
In standby mode,
45# + dials the number on your sim in memory slot 45.
50# + dials slot 50 and so on.
If you have your keylock activated just press the on/off button to turn on your backlight
to look at the time when it's dark without having to unlock the keypad.
Never, ever, in your whole life, install WildSkinz on your Nokia 3650!!! WildSkinz screws up
the whole 3650 system. It was never intended to work on the 3650, only on the 7650.

EA.Sports.FIFA.09.v0.5.5.N-GAGE.SymbianOS9.1.Cracked-BiNPDA

I have been facing a few problems with my N96 so I decided to try this one on my N95 8GB. I will keep you all updated with the N96 and N-Gage venture but at the moment things look gloomy. Anyways, coming to my FIFA 09 Review, well, as you all know I am a BIG fan of Liverpool and have always followed them in every league. My FIFA experience with the TV – OUT can be sneaked up here. So being a total soccer geek I was very happy to see FIFA 09 go live for download. So I got my N95 8GB and downloaded the game right from the device without the need of a computer, which was really cool as the download was pretty quick using EDGE (AirTel Mobile Office). The installation itself was very quick. So wasting no time I decided to give the game a try

The game starts with an all new Graphic User Interface which is very quick to load. The Main Menu is all setup like the one on Playstation and you can choose from various options. The important ones being the Options>Language + Game Setup + Control Setup. Thus they give you all the flexibility to have your game setup to suit your preferences. The best part is the help section as it guides you through different tutorials and game modes so that if you are a beginner, you can quickly adapt to the game. Finally the main game options of Game Mode, My team and Rankings have been elaborately made. The game mode has Scenario - Challenges - Season - Tournament and Penalty mode and the My Team has your Clubs, Nation, Statistics and Recent Progress. The Ranking gives you the idea off your current standings in the different modes of the game. You can pause the game for replays and select stadiums and even the weather at times is dicey, thus a complete package unleashes on your device. The graphics can be made a little more on the soft side but overall its good.

The Playing Screen in Landscape Mode shows the active player with a blue inverted triangle on top and the Goal Tally is on the top left. The active player name on the bottom left with the energy meter below. On the bottom right side is the overall map of the field with player position. The controls are very easy to grasp when playing on the landscape mode and the players can be operated using the four way navigation keys. The pass and shoot buttons too are easy and work very well. The overall gameplay is vey fast and thrilling. Sound is also very well adapted to the gameplay and gives you that extra punch. There are a lot of new tricks and techniques which you can work out and practice. Thus, with the complete database of players and updated club news, players, uniforms etc. the whole experience simply ascends the game to a whole new level. The game has definitely advanced and gives you an amazing experience. If you play it using the TV Out then it altogether is a whole new experience.

Prepare-Install-Play N-Gage 2 for ALL S60v3 (including N93, N93i, N95-2, N95-3, etc.)

Prepare-Install-Play N-Gage 2 for ALL S60v3
(including N93, N93i, N95-2, N95-3, etc.)

These screenshots came from my N73 phone.

I have extracted the N-Gage Patch that came with the BiNPDA version, and separated them so you could install them separately. Take note that only the 3 patches (FIFa08, System Rush Evolution, and Pro Series Golf) are the patches for Pre-FP1 and FP-1 phones, which can also be used on FP-2 phones. The others are just compatibility fix for FP-2 phones.

The Pro Series Golf patch only works on N-Gage application 1.01 Build 1281 and maybe to 1296 too.. But NOT on the newest repack...

I have also included LCG X-plore on the archive so no more question on what file explorer to use. Ok?

Frequently Asked Questions

N-Gage 1.10 Build 1318
(Released August 26, 2008)

All the files that are needed are already uploaded, and are in the archive! Check below the post for the download link!

* Do I really need to hack my phone to install this? (Thanks to FCA0000)
Yes. This is the very first necessary thing to do. If you don't do this and you have a non-official compatible phone, then you won't be able to install and play it. My repacks are NOT in any way signed, or just simple to say, they are UNSIGNED. I don't and won't give time to sign it, just because the tutorial already gives you the ability to install any UNSIGNED application. You yourself can find your own way to sign it.

* Why do I get "Certificate Error" and I'm not able to install?
Read the answer above.

*How can I back up my game progress, save data? (Thanks to rolan95d)
Always make a back-up of all the files and folder in ("C:\private\20007b39"). Then place it back again, overwrite, to bring it back. this is good when updating the N-Gage application or changing phones.
OR you could try to back-up these folders separately ("C:\private\20007b39"): (Thanks to gordgelin)

* Does this fix the 50 friends bug? (as of N-Gage 1.01 Build 1296) (Thanks to Devitrianto)
Yup, as reported by Devitrianto.

* Will this fix 10,000 points bug? (as of N-Gage 1.01 Build 1296)
Yes, it will. As the developers told it, this is just a temporary fix.

* Is there a full screen fix for my phone? (176x208 / 320x240 / 352x416)
As of now, there is no fix for this. I don't know if someone will ever find one. Let's just wait and hope for the best.

* I cant log in to n-gage arena anymore, it says "invalid player name or password"? (Thanks to Devitrianto)
This is due to that your IMEI and some informations on your phone are also embedded on your account. Back-up all the files and folder in "C:\private\20007b39". Then place it back again. I don't think this will work when changing phones, because of the IMEIs conflict. You will need to "un-hook" your phone account to your IMEI, by asking for the administrator on the official N-Gage forum.

* How can I play in landscape mode on my phone? (Thanks to Enej, but I modified it a little)
I suggest you not to do this, because this is sometimes the culprit of having an "KERN-EXEC 3" and or "USER-EXEC 3" error. But if you really insist, I suggest you change this file before you play or open your N-Gage application FOR THE FIRST TIME. Use n73_20001079.txt for Pre-FP1 phones. But if your phone is FP-1, try using n81_20001079.txt. If it still doesn't work, use either 6110_5700XM_6120c_20001079.txt or n82_20001079.txt. Then, try to delete this file: ("C:\Private\10202be9\persists\20001079.cre").

*I can't play the game that I want, it says "KERN-EXEC 3" or "USER-EXEC 3" error?
This is sometimes due to improper 20001079.txt placed on your phone or there is nothing placed yet. If your phone is Pre-FP1, use either the 20001079.txt for 3250, E70, N73, N93 / N93i, I prefer the one for N73. If your phone is FP1, use either the one for 6290, N76, N81, N95 / N95i / N95 PR2, I prefer the one for N81. If this doesn't work, it is sometimes caused by the different hardwares and softwares of the phone. Some phones can't play all the games (non N-Series and E-Series phones). Try asking on where you downloaded the game and see if they have a fix for this.

* Why am I having "System Error"? (Thanks to haikara20)
Sometimes these are due to misnamed access points. Always check for it and access points should not have " ' " (apostrophe). Just to be sure, do not place any special characters on it.

* Why does it say "Out of memory"?
I suggest that you restart your phone before (not necessarily after) playing any N-Gage games. A fresh restart means -> fresher, cleaner memory RAM of the phone -> cleaner memory RAM, means faster phone response (loading). And N-Gage 2.0 takes a lot of RAM to start. This should also fix the error "Not enough memory". And make sure that there's no much applications eating your memory on the background.

* Can I update my profile and play on the arena?
You can set your N-Gage profile, update online, and play on N-Gage Arena. But I suggest not going to, keep in-mind that every software/application that is cracked is illegal, and some people are having problems with it.

*Can I have both cracked and legit games? (Thanks to BiNPDA)
Yes, you can.

* Why can't I install a game that I want, it says "File Corrupted"?
If you've followed my tutorial, you won't have this kind of problem. Just make sure that you've followed everything CORRECTLY! And if you followed it, and this error appears, this is sometimes due to corrupted game file that you've downloaded, make sure you've downloaded it correctly, properly and is found working.

*Do I need to do the chapters again to install games?
No. You just have to repeat chapter 3 when installing games for the N-Gage 2.0.

*Do I have to install N-Gage_Patch.sisx every time that I'll install a game?
No. You only have to install this once and this will work for all BiNPDA cracked N-Gage games.

* The extract N-gage file to PC button doesn't work?
The extract to pc button does not notify you if the file is already extracted, it is extracted at the same directory where you've opened the .exe game installer.

* Can I uninstall HelloCarbide after I'm done with it?
Yes, you can if you think you won't need HelloCarbide anymore. But I suggest not to, cause we are going to need it in backing up files.

*Will this work on other S60v3 phones? (Samsung, etc.)
No. As far as I've known, this is only for Nokia phones.

* Will this work on S60v2 phones?
Definitely, NO. The one important file here that let's N-Gage application run is the Symbian OS PIPS, that is only available for S60v3 phones. Saying that, it won't be able to run on S60v2 even if you repack it. Let's just hope someone could hack it. And the other thing is the RAM that N-Gage application eats, 10~20Mb RAM. As far as I know, the largest S60v2 RAM has is only 15~20MB of RAM, and that is N70. Still it won't work.

*How do I reformat my phone?
See below the thread.

-= Tutorial on Updating N-Gage Application =-
-= Without losing your save game datas and N-Gage Points =-

Step 1 - Backing-up your game progress, save data
Secure and copy all the files and folders in ("C:\private\20007b39"). Check Chapter 1 - Step 2 on how to get to the private parts of the phone.

Step 2 - Un-install previous N-Gage application and Games
First un-install all your N-Gage Games then your previous N-Gage application. You could try to restart your phone before going to the next step, or just go with it.

Step 3 - Install the latest N-Gage application and Games
Follow the tutorial and install the latest N-Gage application that you can find, preferably my repack. Then install the games that you previously had. Don't forget the patches.

Step 4 - Recovering your datas
Place back our backed-up files and folders in ("C:\private\20007b39"), then overwrite. Enjoy!

For further questions, read first the FAQs. If not answered there, then ask questions on the thread.

Here in my step-by-step tutorial, not only it will let you install N-Gage 2.0 on your phone, but it will let you install almost all UNSIGNED/EXPIRED-CERTIFICATE applications!!! That's right! you read it right, UNSIGNED APPLICATIONS!!! But you can also use my old tutorial found on the archive, that doesn't have the ability to install UNSIGNED applications.

2. N-Gage 1.10 Build 1318.sisx
Details:
This is the N-Gage 2.0 Application released on August 26, 2008 officially for Nokia 5320 XpressMusic and N96, that I have repacked. You must have atleast free ~6Mb on your phone memory even if you install this on your memory card.

3. 20001079.txt
Details:
As I've found out on my own experiments, this file can be found or cannot be found on your phone (regarding which phone model you have). This file houses every (I think) screen resolutions handling your phone has, giving you the ability to play on landscape or not. In my opinion, it is not best to overwrite this file if you already have it. Put it this way, you have your own default phone settings (your phone own resolutions) then replacing it with other phones default phone settings (could be different resolutions and settings). Not a good idea isn't it?

4. N-Gage_Patch_xxxx.sis
Details:
BiNPDA patch file. This file replaces the "trial bar" to a "progress bar" on the N-Gage application, works ONLY for BiNPDA cracked games.

5. LCG X-plore
Details:
I have included this file explorer and it's keygen on the archive so you don't have to ask on what file explorer to use. Got it?

6. Hello_Carbide_by_FCA00000.sisx
Details:
An on-phone hack made by FCA00000. This gives you the ability to disable the Platinum Security of your phone, much the same as BiNPDA's Security Manager v1.0. The difference is BiNPDA's Security Manager is acquired through MetroTRK or AppTRK, which the new firmwares are not compatible with, leaving them not able to install N-Gage 2.0. BUT, HelloCarbide is a .sisx installer that can be installed through the phone, manually, giving those who has new firmwares the power to be hacked. YES!!!
NOTE!!!
As of my experience, the only way to bring back to default is by restarting the phone. This file must not be used lightly unless you know what you are doing. Use on any other purposes besides the one being said on my tutorial AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Special Tutorial for the REAL N-Gage 2.0 compatible phones

For N-Gage 2.0 compatible phones (N81, N81-8gb, N82, N95, N95-8gb, 5320 XpressMusic, N96) (firmware must be updated to the latest version), download the latest version on the official website for your phone, then follow these steps:
1. Install the official N-Gage 2.0 Launcher on your phone.
2. Follow all steps in Chapter 1.
3. Follow Chapter 2 - Step 2 ONLY.
4. Follow all steps in Chapter 3.

*CHAPTER 1* = *Preparing for instalment*

Step 1 - "Installing HelloCarbide.sis"
Install HelloCarbide either on your phone or memory card. After it's done, you'll noticed that you have a new application called HelloCarbide (without an icon). Don't open yet.

Step 2 - "Applying the proper InstallServer.exe"
I assume that you already have installed LCG X-plore, if not, install it first. Now open lLCG X-plore (must enable "Show Hidden files and Show system files/folders"), DO NOT EXIT but switch (press and hold the menu button) to your standby mode then open HelloCarbide. You'll notice that it has no welcome screen or what-not, just press Options -> Menu1 -> Yes. If done correctly it will close itself. Now you have all the capabilities on your phone, much as BiNPDA's Security Manager. Now switch back to LCG X-plore. (You must not open any other application other than LCG X-plore). Copy the proper InstallServer.exe on ("C:/sys/bin") (if there is no "bin" folder, then make one). Exit from LCG X-plore. Do not do anything else, just restart your phone. Move on to installing N-Gage 2.0.

*CHAPTER 2* = *Installing the N-Gage launcher to your phone*

Step 1 - "Installing the N-Gage application"
Install the N-Gage application to your phone or memory card. Continue installing the application by always approving on the warnings, and the missing OS pipes.

Step 2 - "Installing the N-Gage Patch"
Just install it.

Step 3 - "Copy 20001079.txt to private parts of the phone a.k.a. HACKING the phone"
You can skip this step if your phone is either 3250, 6290, E70, N73, N76, N81, N93 / N93i, N95 / N95i / N95 PR2.. Now check the FAQ above about playing games in landscape mode. Secure the xx_20001079.txt that you are going to use and rename it to 20001079.txt. (I would suggest that use only the ones for your corresponding phone.) First open LCG X-plore (must enable "Show Hidden files and Show system files/folders"), DO NOT EXIT but switch (press and hold the menu button) to your standby mode then open HelloCarbide. Press Options -> Menu1 -> Yes. If done correctly it will close itself. Now switch back to LCG X-plore. (You must not open any other application other than LCG X-plore). Copy the 20001079.txt that you are going to use to ("C:/private/10202be9/"). Overwrite if needed. Exit from LCG X-plore. Do not do anything else, just restart your phone.

*CHAPTER 3* = *Installing the N-Gage 2.0 games*

(There are quite some difference from BiNPDA's necessary game instalment, to my way of BiNPDA games instalment. Either way, you could follow whichever you want. If you want to follow mine, read on.)

Step 1 - "BiNPDA games"
You should have downloaded or got the BiNPDA games by now. And you should come up with the game installer. If not, I think you should ask somebody about it from where to get it here and what to do about it.

Step 2 - "Game transfer" <- the difference You must now got the game installers (xxxxx.exe files), and BINPDA told you to install it via MetroTRK connection. But I found a better, faster way (I guess, for me, because my computer doesn't have any USB 2.0 Port. And installing via MetroTRK took me 20mins+ just transferring the .n-gage files. Yeah, it's pretty outdated, I mean, REALLY outdated) So on to the procedure, don't connect your phone to your pc just yet. Open the game installer that you've found (make sure it's BINPDA cracked). Install it just as you would have connected your phone to the pc. Click the check boxes: got n-gage application, and no need to install BiNPDA SecMan application. Now you're in the MetroTRK automatic com port detection, just click next. then it will say that MetroTRK could not connect to phone, and then you'll see that there's an option saying that you could extract the file to the pc. What the hell?! So just extract it to the pc, the file will be on the directory where you've opened the game installer. Now all you need to do is transfer the .n-gage files to your memory card in "E:/n-gage/" (if there's no "n-gage" folder, then make it). Now you got games? Yes, but not yet installed. Move on. Step 3 - "Installing the .n-gage files" You can now install games without any hassle of activating anything. As I have told you, you can now install almost all or any UNSIGNED applications/games on your phone!! Open N-Gage launcher. It could take about 5-10secs for loading. But hey, now you've opened it, wait for the “Preparing installation” warning to finish, but you still got no games. Press right on your keypad, you should see all your "to-be playable" games but only they are a little bit blurred. No worries, just click one up and it will ask you where to install. And after it is done feel free to play on or restart your phone, either way, you can now play. And we are done!!! First of all, congratulation! Now you have installed your N-Gage 2.0 Launcher and games. But have you noticed? You can now install almost any or all UNSIGNED applications that you can find!!! Who's your daddy huh? -= Doing a hard format =- 1. Back up all your important data (i.e. Images, Sounds, Videos, etc.) MANUALLY. Not by PC-Suite or something. 2. Format the phone and the memory card SEPARATELY. 3. Format the phone using this: (I call this, an S60v1/v2/v3 phone's Self-Healing) *#7370# - Input on standby mode. OR Turn off the phone. Then PRESS and HOLD the Green Button + Number 3 + Symbol "*" (asterisk/star) SIMULTANEOUSLY. Turn on the phone. Keep holding until the phone asked you to input which country you reside. 4. Format the Memory Card via Card Reader on the PC having the FAT disk attribute. 5. After formatting the phone, and the memory card. Put back the memory card again on the phone. Then format the Memory Card again using your phone. (Just to be safe) 6. Bring back all your files on your phone or/and memory card. A very important information : (regardless of N-Gage 2.0) As you have read right, I made or wanted you to format the phone and the memory card separately and back up your phone manually is because, here's the thing, IF AND ONLY IF your phone has a virus on it, making a back up via PC-Suite also backs up the virus file (I think). Saying that, when you want to return your back up from PC-Suite, it will also return the virus. AND, as I have experienced, these nasty viruses sometimes (or all the time) copies a clone of itself from the phone to the memory card. So, if you already has a virus, then format your phone, you actually don't know that the virus is also there on your memory card. After format the virus copies itself from the memory card to the phone. Making your phone format a waste. See what I mean? Now you are worrying if the virus is in the memory card, then your PC is in danger? The answer is NO. A PC and a Mobile Phone has different Operating Systems. Saying that, a virus for the phone has no result on the PC, and vice-versa (unless someone made a single virus file for both OS. I'm not giving ideas you F***ing virus makers). The only way you could be infected is if your memory card already has a virus for the PC. Then you are DEAD (not literally). It is always and very best that you have a file explorer on your phone that can see hidden files on the phone and memory card (I use LCG X-plore) so that you can see if a PC-already-affected-virus copies something on your phone or memory card. This way you can always have the first move on protecting both your phone and your PC from a virus.

How to change resolutions of Mobile Java Games in S60V3 Mobiles.

Lets get to the point straight!

You have to open a *.jar file for example in WinRar and than open file “manifest.mf” from folder “META-INF”. Than write there this in the end:

Nokia-MIDlet-Original-Display-Size: 176,208
Nokia-MIDlet-Target-Display-Size: 240,320

First is original resolution of game and the second is the resolution of your phone.”

Detailed Info:

Open the jar(with winrar)

->open META-INF(directory)
->Open manifest.mf(drag it to your desktop and open it with notepad)-add the two lines Nokia-MIDlet-Original-Display-Size: 176,208 (the original resolution of the game)

Nokia-MIDlet-Target-Display-Size: 240,320 (the resolution of you phone)

->Drag the edited manifest.mf back to your jar(in meta-inf directory)
->Close Winrar
->Send to phone
->Enjoy!

Tips for removing THEMES.... in S60V3 Mobiles

Tips & Tricks: Removing Themes

One such topic is a problem that appears to be common to all s60 3rd devices.

Many people have experienced a bug where they will install a theme on their device but when they try to remove it using the Application Manager there is no entry for it. I still see this problem on the latest N80IE firmware and on newer firmware for other devices as well. Don't despair though, as long as you install your themes to your memory card there is an easy way to remove those unwanted themes.

1. Connect your device to your PC in 'Mass storage' mode - or insert your Mini SD card into a card reader and connect it to your PC.

2. Once your PC recognizes your card a new drive will appear under 'My Computer'. Open it, and browse to private10207114import.

3. Browse through each of the folders in this directory to find the theme you would like to remove. The MBM, MIF, and SKN files in each folder should each be named after the theme - so if you want to remove a theme called "MyTheme", look for "MyTheme.mbm" etc.

*Note that you may see some MBM/MIF/SKN files named simply "themepackage.mbm" etc. In this case, simply open the SKN file in Notepad and you will see the actual theme name in the first few lines of text.

4. Once you've found the folder containing the theme files you'd like to remove, simply delete the contents of the folder (don't delete the folder itself).

Now put your card back in your phone you'll notice that the theme is no longer listed under themes and you've freed up some space on your memory card.

Guide to Find the Lock code in S60V3 Mobiles

Guide to Find the Lock code

Hey guys,

how frustrating it is to forget the lock code and unable to use the phone when it is just lying in front of you...

Now here is the deal....

Things that you would need...

1. NSS (Nemesis Service Suite)

2. CA-53 USB cable (The data cable that comes bundled with your phone)

3. Your N73 phone

Follow the steps in the below link up to Step 4

http://www.orkut.co.in/CommMsgs.aspx?cmm=24377779&tid=5206178091431855677

Infact in the 4th step you can skip Third click on "Read". But no harm if you have clicked it.

Step 5

Click on the "Permanent Memory" tab given at the bottom right. Now click on the "Read" button.

Make sure that the "To File" check box is checked.

picture ---> http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/7854/nss7dl5.png

Step 6

After you click on the Read button the permanent memory of the phone will be read and written to a file. It will take a while to read the Eeprom and the % complete will be indicated in the bottom right side.

Once it is read 100% the location at which the file is saved will be displayed.

picture ---> http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/9323/nss8xk2.png

Step 7

Open the saved .pm (permanent memory) using notepad.
Look for segment " [308] " and record "5". It will be something like this

5=31323334350000000000. Remove the alternating "3" from this.
5=31323334350000000000.
Now you will have 5=123450000000000. The first 5 digits is your security code.
In this case it is 12345

Segment [308] will look something look like this

Guide To Change Product Code in S60V3 Mobiles

Guide to Change the Product Code

You have heard all the buzz around the firmware and product codes. So you decide to upgrade your firmware and find that the update is not yet out for your product code...

Now that is sad . Well here is a way out.

Inorder to install a FW for a different product code you have to change the product code in your phone to that of the product code for which the FW update is available.

Requirements:

You will need the below,

1. Nemesis Service Suite (NSS)
http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page_2

2. CA-53 USB cable (The one that came with your N73)

3. And of course your N73 ME

Ok now lets get down to business...

Step 1
Install NSS. You will have to change the product code using NSS. Make sure that you choose Virtual USB Device when you get to the Hardware selection page.

Picture ---> http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/8207/nss1wu5.png

Step 2
Connect your phone to the PC in PC suite mode using the Datacable.

Step 3
Run the NSS application. Once it is launched click on the "Scan for new device" icon at the top right corner (The icon is like a magnifying glass)

This will run some test and once it is done you will end up with a screen as shown in the picture. Never mind about the values. It might change

Note: Please make sure that you give a gap of few seconds between each button click so that the data could be fetched.

Step 5
Make a note of the current Product Code. This is to revert back incase if you have any issues.
Now delete the old product code from the "Product Code" box and put the new product code.

picture ---> http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/3342/nss5lp1.png

Step 6
Tick the "Enable" check box next to Product Code and then click "Write".

picture ---> http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/566/nss6wx2.png

NSS should update the product code in a couple of seconds and your are all done !!!

Repeat Step 4 and check if the new product code has been updated.

Have fun with the new FW guys !!!

===========================================================

Very Important:
1. Don't mess around with NSS unless you know what you are doing. Misuse of NSS might cause serious damage to the phone.

2. Make sure you have the latest version of PC suite and NSS else there is a chance that the phone might not get detected.

Please get back with any problem that you might face and we will be happy to help you out...
